An update:

The Boulder Colorado fire is not threatening any more and they sent half their firefighters, C-130's, and helicopters to help with the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs. 346 homes were destroyed in the Waldo canyon fire, making it the most destructive fire in the state's history. The fire is now 25% contained and is not threatening the city anymore. So far, there are only 2 known fatalities from the fire.

Good to know you are ok and that Boulder is out of the woods. God bless the familys that lost loved ones. Had a close call in Tx last year during the drought, was terrifying. Nothing you can quite describe until you are actually in the situation. Hang in there.

CRAZY time-lapse video of the Waldo canyon fire in Colorado Springs. The view is very close to my parents house in Colorado Springs.

The video is quite long, but if you want to see the part that really started to destroy the city scroll to Tuesday morning (date and time in bottom right corner of video) and watch through to wednesday morning. That is when the most damaged occurred.

All the footage and pictures of this fire just reminds me of the 2007 wild fires here in San Diego, when I was evacuated. When we left the house, would could see the embers of the fire being blown above our heads as we left the neighbor hood. Scary sight.
