Re: WBC
This Fred Phelps is on CNN right now... this guy is insane.
"Preaching respectfully" is what he calls them standing near the funeral... If those fucks did it at a funeral I was at, I'd have to bust some asses, for real.
And I hate how they hide behind our rights, freedom of religion and speech and stuff.... things like that make me wish we WEREN'T so free.

And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Mathew 22: 37-40)
That doesn't say "love your neighbor if he's a nice guy and has a good job, keeps his lawn mowed and pays his taxes". It says love your neighbor even if he/she isn't pleasant to be around, is of any ethnic or economical background and even if he/she is gay. God loves them all just them same. Now don't get me wrong, God hates the sin in our lives whether it be a "little white lie" to murder, and homosexuality would fall into the category of sin as well. I want to make that clear, God loves us, but He doesn't always love the choices that we make. God hates it when we sin. I could go on and on about this, but read John 3:16 and you'll understand. I know it's practically cliche, but that doesn't make it any less true.
Anyway, back to the WBC. We are to love the sinner (all of us) and hate the sin. The WBC has got the idea all wrong. They hate gay people and are ignoring one of the greatest commandments. It's very sad. They should be reaching out to all, and not just judging all. They will be judged for their actions, no need to worry there. And to go to the extent of protesting fallen soldiers funerals is so against Christian ideals I can't even comprehend their thought process as to how that would help their cause. And I know that if I was attending a funeral of a soldier or of any of my relatives or friends for that matter and a group was protesting? I would either need restraints or I would be asking God for a lot of forgiveness after what I would do to them. Doesn't justify my actions, but I am only a sinner after all saved by God's grace.
And if you are wondering, yes I am Baptist. And to see the WBC (and I would agree that they are a cult) use the Baptist name disgusts me.
Alright, sermons over. Thanks for listening.
