Thread: OK who knows about boats?

I dont go to the beach everyday but i do pass plenty of boats and boat dealers. I see plenty of classic flames but what i never see is a black boat with purple flames. Not saying there isnt one but i havent seen it. Adding a color that everyone knows me for to the boat makes it mine. Kind of a trademark if you will.



That color is on every engine i've built since i was 12 years old. If the boat floats it will be on the boat as well. Whether its actually flames or some other design it will be there.

Well i like purple but at the time it was more about i already knew people using blue, red, black, orange, and so on. No i've never dealt with them.

I was actually looking for a darker shade but plum is what was available when i needed it. I did find out later that using plum paint and then hitting it with degreaser makes it look like it been powder coated.

Actually that transmission is completed and waiting on the clutch to arrive. I'll get some better pics later. Its to heavy to just carry outside just to take some pics. The wife hated the idea of plum purple with the green bolts but once it was done she liked it. Makes it stand out in a crowd.

I just looked up ats transmission because i've never heard of them. lol I wonder who picked purple first.

ATS Trans are used in racing/high end diesels. If you see someone with a purple trans, do not race them.

I never thought about that but your right it is the hulks colors. I have to agree on the racing part. The sitting here has 3 grand in it and geared like a zr1.

Dark purples arent gay. Pastels (all of them), light purple, pink, and guys named flame are gay.
