So I was pondering since I see some bad accidents on the inter state to and from work EmT class but that's 13 credit hours at 49$ per credit hour for basic alone and who knows what other costs + a certificate of health ....which I'm far from healthy. So is there something less then emt training where you could help / make a difference till help arrives I wouldn't think just a first aid class would do it? I mean sure anything could help someone if your there but something that really could help like yesterday I saw a roll over no one I saw in it but the roof was like completely crushed in when you come across something like that you wanna be able to help

The American Red Cross offers a course in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

First Aid | Learn How to Perform First Aid | American Red Cross

It costs money. Some places will pay or defer the cost - a church may host and pay for the Red Cross to do training. A fire department, sheriff's dept, or hospital might do the same. I don't know what things are like in your locale.

There may be other places that offer training. I did mind via Red Cross.

Another suggestion: swimming.

Swimming is a great way to get into better shape. That can be the first step on a path to being a lifeguard - which includes training in First Aid, CPR, AED, and other stuff.

The training isn't too bad (given it's been ages for me), but knowing how to do at least basic first aid is nice. At the least, you can more easily follow the instructions of an operator over the phone.

Swimming is also very fun. Although, I would say maybe work on form at the same time. Swimming with bad form is like trying to run a marathon by running backwards. It's low impact and you get cooled off.

I think my company offers first aid training I could look into that. And for other thing I'm not just put of shape I got spinal problems diabetes high blood pressure knee problems flat feet bad eyes ...luckily security work has low standards

It would be great if your company would pick up the tab.

You're the best one to judge if swimming is for you. Shit, maybe you just don't like it. From what you list, it sounds like swimming is pretty much the perfect exercise.
