Sonny Bryan's USED to be good. It sucks now. Whoever runs their pit now doesn't know what the fuck they're doing. The brisket is flavorless mush.
Baker's Ribs and Rudy's are pretty consistent. Good barbecue, but not great.
The best BBQ in DFW hands down is Pecan Lodge. It's located at the Dallas farmer's market. Only open Thurs-Sun. Be prepared to wait in line.
Pecan Lodge | Full Custom Gospel BBQ
Honorable mention Meshack's in Garland.

Re: Best BBQ in DFW?
When I was at UNT in Denton (pretty sure thats close to plano), we always went to Metzlers... I thought it was pretty good! Usually got the 2 meat dinner. BBQ sandwiches are only like $5 too.
Oh yeah and then there's Risckys(sp?) in downtown Ft. Worth. $10 all you can eat ribs= hell yeah. Big beef ribs too. The sauce is real good too, kinda sweet so I didnt think I would like it but it was great!Last edited by Truth86; 10-12-12 at 12:02 AM.

Re: Best BBQ in DFW?
BBQ sauce is best on bread for sandwiches or a tortilla with sausage. Now I do like trying different sauces, but I dont think it should be the flavor, just an enhancement. Good ribs brisket or sausage need no sauce. However some people bbq without much season and it does need a sauce.
