    Homebrewed CGI

Ok so I've been using blender and the new blender rendering engine called cycles for about a month now. I wanted to teach myself how to do some light modeling and things just naturally progressed to where now I'm attempting to render a 30 second scene. I'm having a bit of trouble with the lighting in one area and also some questions about textures. Before I even bother with all of that I wanted to know:

Does anyone else have Blender 2.6 experience?

I refuse to pirate software due to my career path but I have no qualms with bending the rules. 3DStudio Max has a student license that is free. Does anyone know a legit way to get a free student copy even though I'm not enrolled in a college right now?

I dont know much, but i know usually if you have a student email that you have access too you can still get student discounts and free stuff, I wasnt enrolled in college when i bought windows 7, but i still had a valid student email so i still got the discount through microsoft.

I'm not astudent either, but it didnt matter. When I went to their website and signed up for the student free copies they never verified anything. I used my gmail email address and got the entire library free. If you want to be a little less covert about it, go sign up for a class at the local junior college after signing up and you will be a little more legit.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.
