The video is the tv spot for the Blue ray, it shows a good number of clips of deleted scenes and behind other unseen goodies.

Hmm well perhaps LV-426 was a test planet. The Space Jockey landed to investigate what happened to the planet. Finds out Humans are now using their black goo but in the process of leaving, is exposed to a mutated alien exposed to the black goo that turned it or breed xenomorphs as we know them.

I detested prometheus. It's meandering plot and only has a small part to do with the alien universe.
I was really hyped to see it too.
But then again I am a huge alien fan so the fact it was marketed as a prequel then they changed when i wasn't paying attention to be just taking place in the alien universe made me rather bitter about it all... What rubbish.

Damage, I'm giving you 50/50 on this. First, it is 100% in the Alien Universe. It's set on the planet next to LV-426. The original draft was set on LV-426 they took it another direction.

Did they play it as a prequal, well yes and no. Because they said both yes and no. Was it a full blow behind the scenes/reveal all xenofest? No, but it's still a "steps leading to the alien" prequal. They just didn't show you all the cards. We will get the rest of our jigsaw pieces with the next movie. They started to answer some questions, but raise so many knew ones, and to find out they plan another movie to continue them movie, prometheus kind feels like a 2 hour trailer form Pradise or Prometheus 2.

They really are trying to give out little info, so people will try and put the picture together. If they just spelled it out in the first film the series would be over and they wouldn't make more money. Now, those are two seporate facts. They have to make money if they are going to make movies. And, the series would be over. The story is tied together, all the plot threads are seem through, hold the crapfest that came about with Resurrection, AVP, AVPR. Think of it, the Alien franchise took a nose dive with Resurrection, this prequal expanded alien univers may be just what the series need to keep its heart beating. Cameron pithed and alien 5, but the execs at FOX said no to a proven amazing director and green lighted a shitty asshole known for making rubbish films Anderson. Who fucking in no way read any of the AVP comic, books, or [good] AVP games. And decided to piss on the continuity of the original films.

It was a kick in the gut for all us Alien fans who wanted an alien 5. For regular movie go'ers, it was okay. Looked good but the story head some what the fuck going on far to often to allow the visuals to make for it. Watch Red Letter, it's fucking balls of the wall funny and a really good video for Scott to watch as say, whoops, forgot that shit.

Prometheus is the Alien like Apollo 13 is to star trek. Its the roots of it all.

Plus they are trying to pander to the Alien fans with hours and hours of bonus crap. The gave us a big bag of goodies to sift through and trying an connect some dots. I mean that image above is from the Blu-Ray. Its the god dam black goo from the film. They have chemical breakdown, notes on test planets, what happens when it's eaten, what happens when you breath it in. Test planets, wait and the company knew something was going down and sent Ash in the original ship. Watch the special edition, Ash was put in place of the original science officer 3 days before the Nostromo. That's Scotts original plan, the version of events he wanted. The original Alien guy not Pual Cockfucker never fucking watched all the Alien films to know what the fuck originally happened Anderson.

I already projected how they are gonna tie in the alien story with the next film. The Company knew about this shit before the events of Alien, and we are gonna find out how.

All that is fine. But there are a few facts that must be established.
1. They didn't stick to the original script after they got on the planet.
2. There will not be an extended/directors cut according to Ridley Scott.
3. Apollo 13 is not a prequel to star trek. They just have a common theme, space travel. Else Star Wars would be a prequel to Star trek.

I know Apollo 13 is not directly linked to the ST series but presented that as a means for you to ge the idea of the big picture Scott is trying to draw here.

There may not be a directors cut, but they are editing in the deleted scenes and he didn't do a directors cut for Alien until 2004. 1979-2004. In all likelihood, FOX will be like hey want some money, Scott will say no, FOX will say want a shit load of money, and Scott will either say yes and do an extended cut or say no and FOX will have someone else edit a SUPER SPECIAL edition.

So I don't see much credit for 2 and 3. Did they stick to the original script, no. His movie, he can change it however he wants. Alien didn't go by its original script. It was shot down, edited, shot down, then passed along to a friend who handed to execs through the dam alley way window. A large portion of the lines was improv. Alien 3 was written, shreaded, written, shreaded, written, shreaded, build the set, rip it down, film the movie, use some of the set, build a set, write the script, rip it up to use the set we build.
