Star Citizen: Bad ass looking new game!
They have basically already sold over 56,000 copies of the game and it is two years from release.
Like I said, this game is only in the funding stages but it seems to be a big hit. The game is being designed by Chris Roberts, the same guy who brought us Wing Commander.... for all of you who remember playing it... It looks like its going to be a kick ass version of EVE for all of you who liked Eve Online. The cool part is that you'll be able to fly your ship instead of just tell it where to go, and there seems to be a first person walk around inside the ship and interact aspect to it as well. After reading up I bought in advance just to have access to the alpha and beta testing. Check out the website HERE.

Re: Star Citizen: Bad ass looking new game!
Except wing commander and privateer (that form the basis for SC) predate the ScyFy channel series.
Though I am sure several science fiction stories (perhaps even the Battlestar Galactica from the 70s) have influenced design.
Wanna guess who owns the wing commander and privateer rights and why this title isn't using that name?

The original yeah, as well as star wars and every science fiction book/film since then.
The creator made comments that he used lots of universes as a basis for his back in the 90s when the first wing commander came out.
Should be interesting, they put out some new renders of the Constellation class ship that has a docking bay for a single fighter.
