JF looked all there is to be human these last two weeks. It is disappointing to say the least. However, I think there is something more to the story (other than "injury"). Something in our offense has "spoiled."

An injury to the thumb on your throwing hand is pretty significant. Ask anyone who has ever played QB at any major competitive level (college/pro) and they'll tell you that you lose the fine level of control you are used to. Balls sail low/high/wide. You compensate by trying to throw it harder, which leads to more of the ball sailing. Manziel took a lot of punishment this year. He tweaked his knee against Bama. He hurt his throwing shoulder a couple games later. The thumb though, by far, is the worst of the bunch.
No excuses. Injuries happen. It's part of football. He still put up some amazing numbers. If it's not enough to win the Heisman... then so be it.
