    Re: NFL MVP

Kuechly was probably more about hype than production, and Wilson probably did more than was expected than RG3. Agree with the rest.

Kuechly led the NFL in tackles this year...i would say that's pretty productive.

With Beason being injured, Kuechly didn't really have a whole lot of competition for tackles. And a huge percentage of his tackles were shared tackles. Lavonte David crushed him in solo tackles.

I see it the same way as Civil. I would've given offensive rookie to Wilson, and there were better choices for defensive rookie. Outside of Lavonte David (who I'm obviously biased towards as a Bucs fan), Bobby Wagner was a better defensive leader than Kuechly, Janoris Jenkins had 3 defensive TDs and 4 picks. All three of them would've been better choices than Kuechly. Kuechly was a tackling machine, but a lot of that is scheme, and even more of that is being on a terrible defense.

Didn't want to type out a long post on my phone, but this pretty much sums it up. Tackles, at least to me, aren't the best measurement. In many schemes the plays are funneled to the MLB, and the job of the linemen is to keep him free, so he can make the tackles. Yes, he has to actually make them, but I also like to look at impact plays. How could Kuechly be in on 164 tackles and not force a single fumble?

    Re: NFL MVP

A linebacker leading in tackles is like a running back leading in yards....to say they aren't important doesn't make much sense...anyway I was just talking about the hype over production quote and saying leading the NFL in tackles is productive no matter the situation.

I do agree other candidates are more worthy but I wouldn't take anything away from kuechly...he had a good year.
