i was reading it up, apperently those tests were with trucks that had weight to simulate being full (40tons?) can't find where i read it though.

My question, how well does it work when the roads are not misted wet.

They need to also implement that, but along the top lip of the truck.... to avoid hitting bridges..... (currently dealing with that exact situation at work)

I do not think they are claiming that the truck stops any faster just that in the event the driver is distracted that the system will help avoid / reduce an accident. My wife's SUV only applies 50% of the braking force of the vehicle which is pretty strong. It will not totally prevent a collision if someone were to "lock them down" but the thing I like about it is that it will always reduce the speed. Hitting someone at 10 vs 35 is a big deal.

I use hers all the time in traffic. Just set the cruise on like 35-40 and let the car drive itself. You can go miles and miles without having to touch the gas or the brake.
