Thread: FM transmitter

So, normally I use my iPod classic and an apple only fm transmitter when I'm driving. The iPod has died though. Does anyone know what a good droid compatible FM transmitter would be?

Any fm transmitter will work if it has 3.5mm input. Then you just plug it in to the headphone jack.

Or better yet, go with modern technology and use a Blutooth connection to the car stereo.

It's cheap to add it. Pretty much any deck these days will have it. Just make sure it has the A2DP profile for streaming music. Many cheaper decks can only handle hands free calling.

I realize that it is cheap. However, car would become a target given the area my school is in.

I had my new stereo with bluetooth and usb and hands free calling and whatnot like a week before someone stole the faceplate.

Another option is a bluetooth to mini rca plug if your stereo has aux input.

That would plug into the stereo and into a usb lighter plug for power. Then you pair your phone to IT, and it pipes the audio into the stereo.

I know in my Stealth RT, the antenna was in the rear of the car and the FM transmitter just didn't have the range for my antenna to pick it up. Something like that would have helped immensely.
