You know it! What db level is adequate? The default is 89 db but I feel that some songs sound muffled a little bit...not as crisp as I´d like them to sound....and I don´t have any music below 128 kbps, most of it is 320 kbps.

Preprocessing will do that.

MP3Gain applies id3 tags that some players interpret and normalize the sound. Not every player supports the tag it uses. I believe iTunes does.

DON'T Touch Itunes, It will screw your Mp3's royally.
