If it is a Sealy P.P., then the standard warranty for one of them is 10 years full coverage. A dip that measures greater than 1.5" is considered a defect as long as the dip measures greater than that. To measure that, strip the sheets, take a long cord/string with two weights on each end, and lay it across the mattress. Take a ruler and measure the dip. Greater than 1.5"? Go to your retailer and start the warranty process. Less than 1.5"? Keep waiting, it has to measure greater than 1.5".

The bed HAS to be clean. Any stains void the warranty.

Also, if you don't have a waterproof mattress cover, get one, especially if she spends a lot of time in bed. We sweat and overtime that can easily break down the foam up top. Most of the time, impressions aren't from bad springs, but from the foam up not holding its shape.

If you bought a Sealy that was manufactured between 2007-2010 you probably just got a lemon. They had serious quality issues during that time but have managed to turn things around a bit.

Lastly, don't flip it. The bed is made from the bottom up. The coils are manufactured to be compressed from the top. They have a different thickness to aid in responsiveness support. So, if you flip it, you'll be sleeping on the thicker (firmer) part of the coil that isn't meant to respond to your body.

Thanks thats good information. I dont know why but the wife wanted to leave the plastic on it so it doesnt have any stains at all. It looks brand new other then the dip.

No problem! If you are getting hot, get rid of the plastic! It cuts down on airflow tremendously and can cause you to sleep hotter than normal. A waterproof, air breathable cover will do the same job.

If you choose to go the warranty route, which you should if you meet the criteria, take clear pictures of your dip without the cord/ruler, of the whole bed to highlight its cleanliness, then another of the dip itself with the ruler and cord to show the inches. Take those when you go to your retailer.
Depending on the reputation of your retailer, the process can be as simple as "Here's proof of my defect" "Oh yeah, we'll swap it out next week!"; to them trying to make you jump through hoops hoping you'll lose interest. I believe Sealy only requires photo proof of the dip, nothing else.

It doesn't cost the retailer too much (just the labor involved in swapping the mattresses out, which you'll pay for more than likely unless you want to pick it up yourself, and the brief time to file the paperwork). Sealy refunds them the cost of the defect mattress. So, if you've got a clean bed and clear photo proof, don't settle on a run around. I mention that because there are some sleazy retailers out there that have no concept on service after the sale, which give our industry a bad name.
