Is it alright to bully fat people?

The official line on this sort of thing is that of course it's a terribly nasty thing to bully people because of their bodies. But let's face it: by and large they've brought it entirely upon themselves by eating far too many cream cakes and not exercising enough.
Bullying people about their weight makes them feel bad, but if they don't feel bad about it then they're not going to have much of an incentive to change other than the occasional threat that they're going to die.
"Fair enough, their choice to be fat," you might say, "not my problem."
    Actually it is your problem.
"Obesity increases health care costs 36 percent and medications costs 77 percent, compared with being in a normal weight range.'' [1] In England we have a national health service, which a large number of fat people tend to leach off of. Even in America they're pushing up the insurance premiums for everyone else. And that's not discounting the other side effects of fat, it's more difficult to turn around and look over your shoulder in the car when you're fat, indeed I know some people at school who can't look over their shoulder because the fat gets in the way of their head turning that far, people with unhealthy eating habits are likely to inflict those on their children, fat people are even bad for the environment airlines in America had to use 350 million extra gallons of fuel in 2000 compared to the 1990s to cover the increasing average weight of Americans, (£149,000,000 worth of fuel,) [2] And that's when the person can manage to fit on one seat, when the person's so fat they have to take up two seats they still only pay for one and everyone else ends up footing the cost. Then again we always seem to end up footing the cost of these people.
The thing isn't even that allowing bullying of these people would necessarily cause them to lose weight, although a few doubtless would despite their protestations to the contrary, but if you can't treat people who are doing this sort of thing in a bad way then it communicates the idea that obesity is a socially acceptable thing, and then you get even more fat people.

Fat people are a drain on everyone around them, the money they take from the health services and the economy could be going towards helping someone who deserves it. So next time a fat person needs surgery for the heart problem they've brought on themselves maybe we should say no, and use the money to treat some little kid who's illness isn't their fault. The NHS won't fund certain kinds of cancer drugs just because of the expense and yet it's quite happy to fund fat people. Does that seem right to you?

The question always seems to come up when bullying: What has this person ever done to you?
Well in this case there's an answer: I'm having to pay for their unnecessarily fat arse. Maybe they deserve bullying after all lest even more people become fat.
It's okay, I understand your insecurity around people that are fat, you must have been bullied by fat kids yourself. When you grow up, you'll undertsand what me and every other logically thinking person is saying. I wonder what kind of idiot would vote yes to this, it is unjust to bully anyone.

Yes, yes you're so right. You see it's a memory of those flabby fields of fat laden flesh wobbling after me like a sea of half-frozen jelly that dictates my current line of reasoning. :vikki:

Really valid argument you've got going there, kid.

Are you honestly naive enough to believe that?
A robber breaks into your house and you call the police, you're using force against him to bully him into stopping. Discipline at school is enforced to varying degrees with detentions, expulsions, ultimately by threatening the qualifications you're probably going to need to get on in life. When you go to work people make you do what they want by the threat of withdrawing your wages. When war crimes are committed and dictators sentenced again it's an act of force against the unwilling.
Bullying is the way of this world, if you think it's never just then you essentially restrict yourself from ever acting without committing an act of injustice.

I see your point Ged, but it is either way, justifiable or not... Eric David Harris and Dylan Bennet Klebold both were bullied and insulted by others and look what happened in April of 1999.

I sure don't want to see a couple of fat fuckers with AK-47's in an angry rage, that would be even more disgusting and insulting.

I want to get it. I am not impressed with the first couple of videos. I really miss playing Onslought and Assault...

*shrugs* I won't get it. I have UT2k4 (well, I borrowed it from a friend, it works without CDs, and I haven't bothered to uninstall it), but the UT games simply aren't in the same class as the Battlefield series.

And after my time here at TTP, I doubt I can ever play an online deathmatch game again.
