Thread: ...my time gets wasted.

Friday i agree to do 2 wood installs at the marriott world center for some convention starting monday. I get there and the first change is i can only do 1 friday morning and the other saturday. Then i spend 5 hours sitting on my ass because they haven't built the little stage for to install the wood. Before leaving he tells me 8 am for saturday. Then he calls saturday morning and moves the time to 11, then he moves it to 3, then to 6, then to 7, and then to 8. I tell him to call me when it ready.

So he calls at 8:30 and says its ready. I agree to come and tell him if its not im turning right back around and going home. So he says its ready. I drive an hour to get there and not a damn piece of the stage is put together. He says 30 minutes so i wait. While waiting he tells me he'll have my check monday morning (which is acceptable) but he's making it out for the square footage of the stage and not the footage i had to use to cover the stage. Which i tell him i dont think so. We then debate the how jobs are bid and billed in front of the guy who owns the set up im there to do. After about 15 minutes he's upset and agrees to pay.

Then i ask the guys building the stage how long its going to be and they say an hour. I already know these fuckers obviously cant tell time from the day before so i tell him i'll be back in the morning to install it. I then get a call from the the guy over seeing the whole thing and he wants me to stay but i'll be damned if im going to for free. He agrees to pay me so sit on my ass.

Now its fucking midnight on a job i agreed at a price to do at 8 am and i finally get to start installing. So now its almost 4 and im back home but they all left at 12 like they're the only ones that have been up all day. The only thing im glad about is for some reason i thought i should bid the job high and see what he does. So yeah he fucked me but i fucked him as well and i also told him after our little conversation if my check isn't right or he tries to play games i wont even blink before i drive over there and run my saw down the center of both those floors. I do not like it when people try to change the rules after the game is half over.

What the hell is wrong with companies anymore? If you take on a job over 200 miles from your office why would you call a sub to take it when your not paying shit? I mean seriously over 400 miles for a $75 trip charge and normal price on the product. LOL hell no i dont want it.

Im not under contract for anything specific. They just have a 450 foot vct job with base in Del Ray beach and wanted to know if i wanted it. Seeing as its normal rates, 400 miles round trip, and only a 75 dollar trip charge hell no i dont want it.

I do have an excellent contract lawyer but why do i need one for a job that i turned down? Im not under contract until i agree to the job and i did not agree to the job under the current terms.
