Was watching CNN earlier and the reporter who was on was totally fucking clueless. He was interviewing a family sifting through the rubble of their house... He said we saw a lot of smiles and laughter... why's that... the interviewee responded something to the effect of we are just happy that no one in our family was injured or killed and that everything here was replaceable...

Then they cut to video of the speech Obama made... and then cut back to the same reporter who said "Evidence of federal aid is already all around here. We've seen National Guard vehicles and personnel on the ground all around the area". It was at that point that I had to just turn it off before I started raging about the stupidity of it all.

The mainstream media sucks. They look for stories... they put people on camera... with no consideration to the person... they just want a story... any story.

Not any story, one that will increase their ratings. The people they put on camera are there to make them money (hence why they don't really care).

CNN's reporter is a dumbass though, probably why he is at CNN =p.

I was there. I was apart of the first response. Was digging for bodies till 5 in the morn at the school. It was bad. Really bad guys. Then slept for 4 hrs and did it again the next day. The news does not do the disaster justice. It was horrible. Bodies mangled in what used to be houses. The press is not allowed in. so they just get these awful stories and feed them to the rest of the world. And people dont see the gravity of all that happened.

Thank God you are ok Howlin. I've done storm repair for most of my career....but I have NEVER seen devastation like that (knock on wood). Un-freaking-real.
