My band is currently on hiatus as we search for a new bass player, so I have been filling in for a friend's band as a hired gun. We played a bigger venue tonight and needed to mic the drums, so they asked if they could use my drum mics and small mixing board that we would line in to the house mixer.
We get done playing at about 1:00a, and I pack up my stuff, totally forgetting about the fucking drum mics. Of course, I don't have the phone number of the drummer, so I have to wait until tomorrow to see if he remembered to grab them. If not, then I just got paid $150 and lost $600 worth of drum mics.
When I bring my PA, I have a check list of every mic, cable, stand, etc. I just forgot tonight.

Yes, and I actually do have insurance on all of my gear, but not these drum mics specifically because I only use them at my home. Anything that I keep at home is covered under home owners.
