Where did Thorsen go? A little explanation of where I've been lately.
Hey folks. Long time no see. I know I kind of dropped off the face of the planet for a while there, but it was a good thing trust me.
See, one year and three months ago I was completely and utterly unhappy with my life. I was depressed, working a dead-end job, living with my mom, a virgin, chronically single loser with no goals, no motivation and no chance. I spent all day every day escaping life in these games, in these forums. Rather than face the reality of what my daily existance had become, I would hop into a game of L4D2 where it didn't matter how ugly, or shy, or fat, or depressed I was, it only mattered that I was fucking awesome at popping boomers and deadstopping hunters.
I feel like I probably didn't come off as being depressed very much in game or on the forums. I learned to hide it well. I learned to keep everything inside and be cheerful, jovial and entertaining. On the inside, though, I was miserable. I wasted three of the best years of my life doing absolutely nothing. I'm twenty-three years old now and I am just now in my first year of school. I've missed the boat, but one year and three months ago I decided to jump in and swim.
So, what have I been up to?
The biggest thing I did was lose almost 90 pounds (And counting). I'd been overweight my entire life. This is the first time EVER that I've been healthy weight and more than that, in good shape in general. If anyone is curious I can post how I lost the weight later.
The second biggest thing I did was quit my fucking pathetic excuse for a job and start working at a local retail store. I have since been promoted three times and currently work as a supervisor making more than twice as much as I used to. I LOVE my job and it's making school a lot easier.
Which segways into the next big thing. I'm in school now taking gen-eds, I hope to eventually become a paramedic or paramedic-firefighter.
Honorable mentions: Got a sense of style, started dating, got a girlfriend, moved out, started lifting weights again.
I appreciate you all being my friends when I didn't have any in real life. I appreciate TPG giving me an escape when I needed one. Now, I might play occasionally, but I've found so much joy in real life that TPG is very firmly on the back burner now. I'd just rather be at the gym, or the bar, or with my girlfriend than playing video games. I still love all of you and you'll see me around, but I just wanted to give a heads up about where I've been and why I disappeared.
Thanks for reading.
Oh yeah, and here's the obligatory before and after pictures of my weight loss.

Thanks guys.
I lost the weight through diet mostly. I only started working out about three months ago. I'm doing starter strength which is:
5x5 Deadlift, Bench Press, Shoulder Press, Squat three days a week.
My lifts went from:
Dumbbell press: 45 to 65
Squat: 110 to 185
Deadlift: 135 to 225
Barbell curl: 60 to 90
Shoulder Press: 40 to 80
I went from not being able to do one normal pushup to doing forty without stopping using handles. I went from not being able to do any pullups to being able to do about five at a time (Still tough for me).
I used to get out of breath just walking, now I can bike twenty miles without stopping.
I figure I was eating roughly 4500-5500 calories daily when I was fat. I'm on a strict 1500 calorie diet right now, mostly protein and fat, I split it 40-40-20 with 20 being carbs.
Haven't tasted soda in a year now, don't miss it.Alundil liked this post
