06-19-13, 11:48 PM #1Confederations Cup 2013
Another football (soccer) thread, because it's better. Anyways, has anyone else been watching the Confederations Cup so far? Today was probably the best match of the lot so far, with Italy and Japan, it was somewhat crap in the first half, but man the second half was well worth watching if you get the chance. Oh the ref was awful though.
Otherwise its been okay so far, Mexico vs. Brazil was a bit shit, got better but still wouldn't of called it a good match. Japan was horrible in the first game against Brazil, though seeing it compared to today, there is an argument they were jet lagged. Nigeria vs. Tahiti was the worst 6-1 win you'll probably ever see, Nigeria was hooorrriibbblleee, Struggled to stay onside, but wouldn't matter as they were shit at taking chances (and at times tried to take the piss like jackasses). I think I either fell asleep watching Spain vs. Uruguay, or just wasn't paying attention (both are possible with Spain's tiki-taka bullshit).
Mentioned Tahiti before, and they are the darlings, not because they are good (they are really SHIT), but they have one professional player in the entire squad, who never even played for the team before this tournament. They'll get hammered massively by Spain and Uruguay next, but still love them and root for them to not get totally destroyed.
Anyone else who has watched it have any thoughts, opinions, etc. on the action so far?
Oh, also, really hoping for a Brazil vs. Spain final, because why not?

I didn't get to watch the matches today at work but I had the matchcast open in the background. Mexico hasn't been doing much lately and I think their loss to Brazil will continue to add to their slump. They need a good solid win against a slow team to get the edge back.
I loved how Japan best Italy today...I love it when most teams best Italy on the pitch.
Tahiti will be fun to watch... Though part of me fears for their upcoming demise. They ate going to get wrecked but I'll cheer anyways!
Brazil Spain would not be an unpleasant final... As long as Spain loses. Lol! I don't think I can handle Spain winning anything else

I hope Brazil does well as well. I am not hoping that they win 2014, but I wouldn't be sad if they did. Brazil is a soccer nation and I hope their play reflects that. I was so happy to see Spain humiliated in front of the world. I will be incredibly disappointed if they win another title
