    Car A/C ?

I know there are some of you out there that have the knowledge I need, well I have a 2006 Mazda 3 and whenever it gets goddamn hot the a/c doesn't blow cold, just... cool... nothing like half of your trip still sweating with the a/c on, now I've had the a/c inspected and it's not leaking, has the proper amount of refrigerant (that's been checked), etc in it... what I need to know is this normal for a car this size, or is there something else I need to have inspected... because I get the feeling that unless I know what to ask about then I'll just be told I'm imagining things

Sounds like the compressor might be going out. Or the belt is slipping. Or the clutch isn't always engaging... Have the compressor checked.

It could be as simple as re-charging the freon.

Freon is full, that much I know... so the belt/clutch/or compressor *nods* I was thinking it was because it was some tiny little 4 cyl as all the other vehicles are 6cyl or above *nods * I'll have the 3 checked and we'll see what it turns out to be, thanks

Note that the clutch is ON the compressor. So technically... just have them check the belt and compressor.

Are you recirculating air or pulling from outside the car? On hot as hell days most small car AC systems will have an issue keeping up if pulling air from out side, and worse if its humid air.

Oh, and if the system is OVER charged with refridgerant, you can have the same issues on hot days. The pressures get so high that less freon boils in the evaporator coil.

    Re: Car A/C ?

fresh cabin filter last year, per the dealer sheet they shouldn't need to be replaced all that often, however the last owner (was a lease return) was a smoker or something because it smelled funny..I recall cause I had them replace it during an oll change thinking it might help with a smell (it did) and the dealer made a point of coming to ask me who had been using the car last and showing me the filter...snicker as towards charge level, it was brought current with factory specs last year at the same time too, at the time I'd noticed the same behavior temp wise, however they said it was a few ounces low of the 134-a but when it was topped up it didn't make a different
