    a question of morals/ethics

is it wrong to look up someone you are interested in background?

so i made me a new friend nice/sweet girl but i know she has/had problems with drugs so ive been goggling her trying to gather as much info on her as i can

it feels like a shitty thing to do but at the same time it seems reasonable

Try the freedom of information act and see what the Govs picked up.

Well, I see a few things here. You are trying to see if your investing time and effort into a worth while individual.
Something likely to come up if you spent a chunk of time getting to know one another, the subject would likely come up.

Is it worse then facebook stalking? Eh hard to say, some people put everything on fb.

Is she a friend or a "friend" wink

Hehe, working IT for a university; I can look up a girl's name, address, number, age, birthday, hometown, major, etc.... and I've asked myself that same question.

    But I'd never do that!
... well, maybe I've only done it once...

I do understand what you mean though, and I'm not sure I know what the answer is. If you want to build a foundation on trust, then at some point trust must take over as what you are putting into the relationship rather than doubt.

I think it's best to ask her.

The last thing you want is to accidentally bring up something from her past that she hasn't revealed to you.

    1. If you are looking into Dating her, No problems with getting the Dirty on her.
    2. If you are Stalking her, then yeah it's bad.
    3. Chicks do it to Us ALL the Time.
    4. If you Find anything ask her General Questions about things she might want to tell you about her past, The key here is For her to bring it up to you.
    5. If she doesn't do#4 Ask her flat out and honestly, make it clear that what you found on her Violates your standards.
