Re: Stupid people in this stupid economy, jobs and school
Depends on where you go to school. Mine was at a community college now called a state university. Which apparently means we do nothing different but charge twice as much now. My sisters was at UCF and Barry. I paid with gi bill and cash so mine was no where near that. Hers however came in above that figure. To me a piece of paper from is as good as the other because i dont care what name is at the top.

Re: Stupid people in this stupid economy, jobs and school
Idk I only racked up $18k of debt in 5 years. Meanwhile I'm making exponentially more than I would've had I not have gotten a degree. Even if you run your own business you still incur debt.
I'm not sayin school is always worth it, there's always limitations. The thing with school is it all depends what you go for. Does it make sense to rack up debt for a art degree? Probably not. Does it make sense to rack up debt for a comp sci / finance / acct / engineer degree? History tells us yes.
There are many success stories of people who do well without degrees and I applaud them. This the basic law of finance in that if you take high risk you can potentially have high reward. A degree for me offers stability and gradual growth.
It really just boils down to personal preference. It is an expensive piece of paper, but it does look good on the wall.

I challenge your assumption with reality. Look at who we consider the most wealthy people in our country:
Bill Gates dropped out of college with no job.
Sam Walton worked at a 5 and dime before starting his own, and thus WalMart.
Warren Buffett borrowed cash to fund his first businesses and investments.
The list goes on and on of people that were "ordinary people" before they became extraordinary people. Irregardless, even if you look at someone who has some/good money they still use more of someone else's money to make more money for themselves than they do their own.
TLDR - If you want a new camaro then yes, I agree you should have the money for it. If, however, you want to buy/start a business then borrowing money is advised.

Gates made an invention. Thats not the average business start.
Walton also not broke to begin with. His father made a fortune during the depression.
Buffet was the son of a US Rep. They weren't poor to begin with.
So you made need to post some more of that list that goes on and on.
