Phoenix companies looking to hire?
Thinking it's time to move out of small town Connecticut and back to my old stomping grounds.
Anyone get hot tips on who's doing a lot of hiring out there?
I've limited experience in data entry with the US Census and a customer service as a cashier.
Most of my job experience is with UPS as a line supervisor. They limit promotions to the district your currently working in.
I already have my economics degree, not that it's going to server much of a purpose.Dispatch the DooM

Not sure of those types of positions hiring... but some big engineering and military contacting firms are aggressively expanding these days.
W.l. gore and Associates. There are 4 plants in phoenix and they make world class medical products. They hire all kinds of people for all kinds of positions. They are almost always listed in Forbes and other mags as a top 20 best company to work for. (I've interned there, it's amazing)
Intel has a fairly large presence in phoenix.
GM is expanding in phx
General Dynamics - C4 systems, Garmin, and Honeywell are large companies there as well.
While those places are mostly technical, businesses still need business people. Best of luck!

I am in AZ, GM is hiring like mad. They just opened a new plant. I know UPS was hiring near ASU campus in Tempe prior to semester start, they ramp up for student deliveries. I am not sure if they are still hiring or not.
I will keep an eye open.

I work for Express-Scripts. They are always hiring out of Tempe. Sure, we were recently voted the #2 worst company to work for in the U.S. via Glass Door survey, but we also just went through massive layoffs in Franklin Lakes NJ, Las Vegas NV, and Irving TX. Reasons for employees hating the company is because they feel they are over worked and under compensated.
While I agree about being over worked, I am compensated very well, and continue to make more money year over year. It all depends on your job and what you are good at.

In terms of places, I keep hearing about Amazon always hiring for their warehouse down here. I think Goodwill is/was doing a bunch of hiring recently and about all I know off-hand. The hotels might be hiring since it's starting to cool off now and should start getting the tourist coming in.
