Might sound a little fringe, but I'll throw it out there and it has worked for me. Guided meditation is something that once you throw yourself into it, you can see some great results. Google "get some headspace" and see what you find. I hope that it helps if you decide it is needed.

Again, massive props. I told my mom how I felt about smoking. Its like sitting out in the middle of a field with a big pit bull. As long as you sit there, the pit bull is cool and non aggressive, but as soon as you start to run for the treeline, she comes after you with a vengeance. Run like hell for the treeline, you can make it !

It doesn't hurt or kill you, it just makes life shitty. Most likely, if I would have stuck with it, the side effects would have lessened, but that wasn't going to happen. For some, it works wonders. My best friend and his wife were both successful with it, which is why I gave it a go.

I smoked a pack a day for 5 years, I had to change every habit to quit. Sucks but you are doing a great big deal right there...

It worked really well for some friends of mine, but I didn't have the same experience as they did.
I never had crazy dreams, suicidal thoughts, or anxiety...

But I had a problem with it making me nauseous in the morning (I don't eat breakfast, I'm just never hungry when I wake up). Supposedly you're supposed to eat something before you take it.

It did help me quit for about a month while I took it, but then college finals rolled around and I said fuck it, I need a cig. That, and I was tired of being nauseous in the mornings.

Any time you take a psychotropic drug, it's fucking with the levels of the various chemicals that make your brain function. It typically takes a week or two for your brain to stabilize and any change you make to those medications (dosage, etc) you'll experience the same issues. I know when I was taking happy pills, I'd have a horrible time sleeping every time we changed dosage and I went through 2 or 3 different drugs before I found one that worked. I went through about 6 months of hell until I finally saw the true benefits of the drugs.

Went to the 5th wedding of the year last night. Smokers were all around me.. It was tough, but to be honest, I don't think I would even want a cigarette again.

Before you know it, you'll be one of those wretched reformed smokers who chokes when others light up. The biggest benefit I have experienced is the expanded capacity in lung function. You don't truly realize how much they have improved until you get sick for the first time.
