    Interesting but impractical in a technological sense. The "base" could never be made versatile enough to take any block in any position enough to make it nearly as customizable as they show. You would start seeing issues that plague the PC world with compatibility issues between modules (components) interacting with other modules... Drivers would start clashing... The OS would require years of development, putting aside the hardware improbabilities, to come up with something stable and full of enough features to compete with current gen android/ios (fuck windows phone 8 ). And if they chose android even it would need major overhauling to handle anything of this nature.

    Impossible, no. But not in the form they show. Improbable? Definitely.

    Having to buy a new phone when only a small part breaks is what makes phone production companies extra money.

    Its a great idea, but that doesn't mean it will happen.
