Who... is going to beat Mayweather??
So another one goes down. I figured if anyone was going to be able to catch and damage Floyd, it was going to be Alvarez. As it was I couldn't give Alvarez more than 3 rounds and I was generous on one of those (despite the judges, one of which actually had it a tie).
So is there anyone at ALL out there? I can't think of anyone. At 36 he's still faster than anyone. His ring generalship is unmatched. He shows his opponents such a changing style throughout the match. And he just forces even the best to miss. repeatedly, while putting up a hit percentage unmatched by anyone else.

Re: Who... is going to beat Mayweather??
The only man that has a real chance of beating him is the one man he will never fight the pac man is the only fighter i give a real chance to. Now if you threw mayweather in a mma fight he would get his ass kicked cause boxing is dumb but yea know thats my opinion. Pac is the only "boxer" that has a real chance of beating him but the fight will never happen cause mayweather is afraid of him.

Re: Who... is going to beat Mayweather??
Depends. Put an mma fighter in a boxing ring and even a journeyman boxer is going to kick their ass. There's a reason most MMA fighters try to learn at least a passing amount of boxing.
Do the opposite and yeah a boxer that has no ground skills will most definitely get their ass handed to them.
It's like trying to compare hockey and football players. It's two very different sports despite a passing similarity at times.

Re: Who... is going to beat Mayweather??
Very true. The only reason i give mma the nod is that i believe it is a lot more real. There was a fighter by the name of lee murray who was pretty much a straight up G street fighter who went 8-2 in mma in the early days. Now these days kimbo slice proved that its not possible to do that cause you cant just come into mma with now ground game everyone pretty much has one now. So its all 6's and 7's like you said. but like is said i think pac is the only "boxer' that has a real chance of beating of mayweather

Re: Who... is going to beat Mayweather??
Honestly I dont think that anyone is going to beat him, and im saying this with a very strong disdain for the guy. Alvarez was the ONE guy I thought who could have beaten him, but that was assuming he would have a few more fights under his belt and work his way up to Floyd's skill. Alvarez kinda beat himself in this one because the guys he was fighting prior to Floyd were less skilled than him and to me he was never really challenged in a fight. But that's the nature of the beast in boxing today. Find an easy guy, go fight, get the win, collect pay check and move on.
Pacquiao aint the same fighter he was 5 years ago. Back then I would say that him and Mayweather could do 100 fights and itd be a 50/50 split. Now Mayweather would beat him in 99 fights. Pacquiao's downfall was his 3 fights against Morales. You dont do 3 fights against the same guy and come out the exact same fighter. Those were 3 wars that he went through and he paid for them especially with Morales koing him in the last fight. Dont believe me, just watch the 3 fights between Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward. Both those fighters weren't the same after those fights and they both took a major step back. 5 years ago the Pacquiao Mayweather fight would have been gold to watch, but now its a no contest in favor of Mayweather.
I will say this though, and keep in mind i am not a Mayweather fan by any means. He is the best technical boxer on the planet right now. And I honestly dont think anyone is going to beat him.Echelon liked this post
