Re: Knee of Justice Career Planning

So you go to an online gaming forum and ask nerds what they do for a living and the majority say IT?? I'm shocked lol. IT is a good choice but it certainly has to be your cup of tea. I loved IT but when I started taking college courses I quickly lost interest.

Then I wanted to try out criminal justice, but safety was an issue so I quickly dropped that.

Then I stumbled on to business. Got my associate of arts in business administration and initially wanted to get my bachelors in accounting. Journal ledgers bored the shit out of me so I went to the next best thing and got my degree in finance. My last semester of college I scored an internship with a bank and the rest is history.

My point is you're going to change your mind a lot. Take a variety of courses in college and find out what you truly enjoy. If you're good at what you do the money will come. Now I'm not saying go out and get an art degree because a specialized degree will limit your job options.

One other thing, don't join the rat race man. Go to school pay off your debts as fast as you can and let money work for you. Most people including myself are slaves to money. More money won't solve your problems.

Do not invest into retirement until you have your debts paid.

I don't disagree with paying off what you owe first. However I would suggest to start a retirement plan as soon as possible. Start small and make it continuous, as you pay off loans, debts, etc., increase your retirement plan(don't just make a bigger car payment...etc.). You will enjoy an early retirement if you do it right.

Make a plan(goal) and stick to it.
