You can't sleep...

And I don't know why. Some insomnia is normal for me, but this whole week it's been in overdrive. I take some pills for Bi-Polar that usually help knock me out, but they haven't been working this week. I even took some of the tranquilizers my doctor gave me and they didn't do anything either. I've got maybe 5 hours of sleep this whole week long, and today they sent me home the moment I got to work cause they were afraid I was going to cause accidents.

I don't drink a lot of caffeinated drinks, I eat healthy, I get to bed at a decent time, I try all kinds of breathing techniques and what not, and nothing is working. I'm at the end of my ropes here...

are you doing any physical activity during the day getting fresh air and sun ? also try some melatonin

The Police Sycronocity (how ever they spelled it) played at low volume in a dark room. Dont know why it works but it does.

@Moving: My job is an inside job, but I do walk around a lot during the day. And I dunno about Melatonin. Sounds like it could be habit forming.

@DG: A little too... Fast paced for sleeping for me. I was going to try this tonight.

I know and everyone says the but it works every time. Good luck i have the same issues and it took years for me to train myself to fall asleep to married with children.

I have the insomnia as well. I work, or read, or brainstorm for hours on end when sleep is elusive.

Naxos put out a CD called "Lamentations" which includes the Lamentations of Jeremiah, and some similar choral music. Bought it long ago, ripped it to every device I've since owned.

When I need something extra to help me put the day away - to calm the mind, and return the the heart and breath to slow and deep - it's the one I cue up. It doesn't put me to sleep, it just makes sleep an option.
