A lack of Steam (or similar)

Bought Gran Turismo 5 today, as I had been missing a GT style game, shift filled the void a bit but not the same. Anyways put the disk in and got greeted by the 14 patches needing to be downloaded. This is not including the however many already installed on the disc (about 2gb worth iirc).

If there is ever anything needed to make you appreciate Steam and the ilk more, it's two hours+ of just downloading patches (internet is slow) O_O. So not used to it anymore.

should have went for GT6 instead.... it just came out and is like GT5 with patches just about.....

Looks bad ass. If it has Laguna Seca, I'm all in. Love that track.

When does the full release come out? They seem shady about not advertising a date on the website.

Dunno. It's an early access game, like Arma III was. However...it's already $39.99 and if the price goes up after or at release....that's gonna be one expensive game.
