We got a good old fashioned blizzard going on right now. Already have 5 inches by my house, supposed to get at least another 5. AND i just got back from the ski hill. Life is great.

And yep......there's aboot 10" out there this morning. Drifting like a sumbitch. Windy as Hell, too.

10inches is considered a blizzard?? The fuck?? We get 15inches here in jersey and they call it a Nor easter....In total this winter i think my area got something like 54inches not a single storm was considered a blizzard....Im confused...

We hit up Afton yesterday. Lift operators were pretty cool too. Asked one guy if we could go down a closed run cuz it had no tracks and tons of fresh powder....his response was "If you can get there, i dont give a fuck." It was amazing.

It was considered a blizzard because of the wind with it. Winds were gusting over 20mph blowing the snow and making visibility near impossible.

It's considered a blizzard when it is snowing +1 inch/hour and the wind is +20MPH.

It rained here for about 2 hours before it turned to snow and wind. Because of the wind, MnDot couldn't put salt down as they were continuosly plowing and all of the salt would have been plowed into the ditches. The rain then froze to the roads, and about 10" of snow piled on top of it. It was a mess this morning. Yay for 4WD and an 11 HP snowblower.
