    Just to compare:

    A 100ft. roll of 10/3 is $98.00
Cerrowire 100 ft. 10/3 NM-B Wire-147-1803CR at The Home Depot

    A 125ft roll of 8/3 is $149.00
Southwire 125 ft. Black 8-3 Romex NM-B W/G Wire-63949202 at The Home Depot

Both will get you what you want, but one is a third cheaper, and MUCH.....MUCH easier to fish (assuming you want to keep your sheetrock as virginal as possible).

I have a clear path to the location already (unfinished walls and closets FTW), either one would be just as easy to run. Yes I know it might be cheaper..... haven't gotten that far yet, have to make a final call on that...

When you do make the call, look at how big a 50A cord end is. Then look at a 30A. Look at the recepts as well, and you will see that you won't likely be able to get two amps on the same circuit due to the physical size of the cord/recepts. If you need to cut-in a seperate box for a second amp anywhoo, and you have a clear path to your panel, might as well put them on two dedicated ckts.

Whichever way you go, that shit is gonna pound.

    Re: Audiophile Territory

So delivery date is tomorrow. I ordered all the necessary cables and misc hardware I will need for the box.

    For the enclosure:
12 AWG oxygen free copper wire (50 ft)
    4x Compression type banana plugs
2x Neutrik panel mount speakon jacks

So I think I am going to wire both coils to the outside of the enclosure instead of wiring them in parallel or series internally. That gives me more flexibility later if I change amps etc. etc.

For wiring to my existing system:
    2x 25ft speakon 12AWG Neutrik NL4FX cable
1x Monoprice rca to XLR converter cable
    1x Monoprice 25ft XLR cable

I am debating whether I should attempt to build the box myself (I do not own a router, or any other easy tool to cut circles). Or ask around at cabinet places to see how much they would charge. I expect it would not be cheap.

What is the audible frequency difference between the new speaker and a 15" sub? I have two 18" subs that I use for my PA and used to have 15s. I hear little to no difference. And seeing how they are EQd anyways, I think some of the potential difference is going to be lost.

    Cool project though, for sure.

Well here is the manufacturers freq graph of the ULS-15 (what I currently have):
    Audiophile Territory-uls-15-fr-jpg

And here is the graph of a model of the SI HS 24 (the new driver):

    Audiophile Territory-8ca541a8_sealedvsported-png

Blue is sealed; Green is ported at 15hz.

Now what the room will do with the sound is all dependant on the room. But basically I am gaining the ability to play frequencies lower than 10hz at audible ranges.

I will of course EQ the frequency range to be as level as I can get it, but I do like my subs running a bit hotter than my mains. Which this new setup will better be able to do without problems.
