Funnily enough, some of those "protesters" bringing their rifles into Chipotle did so because that restaurant chained decided to ban firearms from their restaurants.

Really though, it's just not constructive for multiple reasons. One, a lot of these people were protesting for gun rights in TEXAS. It's not exactly a state with loads and loads of anti-gun laws. For another, with the culture of mass shootings, walking into a crowded restaurant carrying a weapon that is not practical for day to day self-defense along with several other people doing the same will make people freak out. It will do the opposite of garnering support for gun rights.

If you really want to get support for gun rights, set up an educational event at a shooting range or a gun show. Invite a bunch of people and get them to invite a bunch of people. Educate them on the positives of guns and on gun safety.

Otherwise, it's just going to be one step forward, two steps back.

Bill Maher while entertaining isn't who i would take seriously on what i or anyone else should do. You wont see me hauling a rifle when i go to eat but thats more because its just damn inconvenient. Shit half the time i end up picking my cane up off the floor and it would upset me if my rifle fell like that. Plus your also talking about the same guy that this time said its your constitution right you wont lose it but was bitching not all that long ago about the nsa collecting data in violation of everyones constitutional right. He's a comedian and whats important to him is not whats really important. He's in it for the ratings.

I will have to add whats already been proven many times is having a weapon out in the open deters crime. So odds are you wont end up with a bullet in you or anyone else. Criminals want low threat easy targets not hard ones.
