Thread: Snack Time!!!

Oh, and ranier cherries. Good lord I love cherries.

Well, when I still lived in Washington State, we used to go out to the farms nearby and pick up crates of fresh apples. I used to eat so many of those in a day. You don't know what a really good apple tastes like until you've had one you just picked off the tree yourself.

Also, every year the Rocky Ford Cantaloupes go up in the farmers markets around here, I eat lots of those as well.

I would kill for a good cantaloupe. Most of the stuff you get at the grocery store isn't very good.

Yeah, I usually don't get Cantaloupes from stores because they're never very good. But here in The Springs, we get the really good local grown ones in the farmers markets during the summer, so I gorge on them so I don't want anymore til next yeah.

I eat carrots and cucumbers daily, as well as dill pickles for snacks. Every so often, I will eat some green olives. I slowed down on pickles and olives just because of the high salt content, and I just stick to the raw veggies now. I also go through fruit like a mad man. Oranges, strawberries, and mangos, just to name a few.

Being in Florida, February-April is one of the best times of the year because I can by strawberries locally by the flat. There is something to be said about freshly picked strawberries that aren't first cleaned and sprayed with some sort of preservatives before being stocked at your local grocery store. I also get fresh mangos from family in Miami that get delivered a few times/year. I will go through a dozen fresh mangos in only a few days. Noms!

I try to snack good so I can misbehave a bit at meal time.

Pfft..peasants. You can get them here for $1 on sale, and they're usually pretty good.
