Talking about gpu drivers not high level printing drivers
You really need to learn what your computer is doing under the hood.
Best a driver can do is point to a new binary to load but it still has to unload the old one (technically no, but that can cause problems).
Though I am fairly sure you cannot have two differing drivers for the same device loaded at the same time.

I know? I was meaning that what you are experiencing is something I have only ever had happen when I was trying to figure out how to use a PS3 controller with my desktop (before I learned about MotionJoy and before I got a 360 controller that has default support).
I have never had my GPU driver install do that on any of my laptops or my desktop.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
