If we hosted no games and the website was taken down there would still be people around here claiming their resident clan was still alive. Lol

I believe a lot of clans, moreso than they are simply dying, are in need of a refocusing on what they play. Nearly every clan here was either a CSS, BF2, or a BF2142 clan - all of which were killed by newer, and in some ways, inferior games. I still see alot of the big TPGers online on steam most nights...They are just in different games like DayZ, DOTA2, Minecraft, FF14, and everything in between.
BF4 is definitely a hit at TPG and a lot of classic TPG players are back in action - but the game is ludicrously expensive for everything, computationally demanding, and not as inclusive as BF2/2142 were. All of these could potentially be barriers of entry for some people
If only there was a game that could muster the whole of TPG like in the good ol days. When people are excited about playing the same game day in and day out, it's easy to build clans back up with the way we play.

Re: Resident Clans!!!
Expensive is an issue as there's nothing we can do about that. But the price will come down I'm sure.
Computationally demanding though... BF2 was the BF4 of it's day. 2142 was a BEAST for needing horsepower if I remember correctly. Eventually hardware caught up with it and I think that was why it held on so long. There wasn't another iteration of the game (like they did with 3 to 4) and people that wanted to play it eventually upgraded their machines and found the game when even medium horsepower hardware would run it. The same will happen with BF4. I run it at 2560x1440 with things mostly on the highest settings with a GTX680 and a 3930K. That CPU came out in november of 2011. And the gpu came out in June of 2012. Thats a minimum of 2 year old hardware. And it runs great. It won't be long and lower end systems will be able to run it well and we'll start seeing more people pick it up.salty99 liked this post
