    The beauty is that you can start with just a few radios and add as needed. Many restaurants have them for hostess, manager, busboy and maybe a bartender. That way the waitresses aren't distracted. The Motorola isn't the cheapest but it is a solid radio with the right accessories available.

    Yep, I believe we will go with motorola. I think we´ll start with maybe 15-20 units; like you said for the hostess, floor manager, cashier, kitchen and bartenders.

    Is there any way to set a channel for a specific person? Say, to communicate with the hostess, she´d be on channel 3 and so on, or is that a really stupid question?

    The units I listed were 4 channel. If you wanted to have different groups of your staff on different channels and then the manager could swap back and forth to talk to all.
