Are piņon the same as what I buy in an Italian grocery as pine nuts and use to make pesto?

That page says they sell them in the shell. I don't think I've ever seen a pine nut in its shell. Is the shell hard to get off?

Edit: turns out the wikipedia page is helpful:

    What the ever-luvin' fuck? Pream?!?

"Dairy Product for Coffee" may be the most hilarious thing I've ever heard.

    "Dairy Product. For Coffee!"

Because whenever I have a hot cup o' Joe, what I'm usually thinking is that it's pretty good on its own, but it'd be even better with some Dairy Product. Yes sir, some sort of dairy product sure would taste good in this coffee. But soft, what sort of dairy product would suit? There are so many. Wait, I know! I need Dairy Product for Coffee! Those other sorts are not for coffee.

"Honey! Get the Pream! It's a dairy product... for coffee!"

That's even better than "Processed Cheese Food" - though it's a close call. I've always loved the way they added in "Food". It's not just Processed Cheese. It's a Processed Cheese Food.

You know, in case you were wondering about the food part. No need to wonder any more. It's food. It says so right on the label! You may eat this Processed Cheese Food with confidence!

Ahh, of course. I thought that ads in movies were a new invention. I forgot that bastard advertisers are an old invention.

So I looked it up, and yeah - Pream. I can almost get my head around the idea that it's a reasonable product. They'd been evaporating and canning milk since the turn of the (previous) century. So why not just keep evaporating it until all the liquid is gone? Lower shipping weight that way, and you don't have to refrigerate it after it's open.

I'll bet they sold tons of it to the Army. Dairy product, for coffee!

[or in Army terms: Coffee Lightener, Dairy, Dessicated - M1954]

Apparently they kept noodling with the formula until someone figured out that it was the protein in the milk that kept it from dissolving easily. So they got rid of the milk part - and now it's non-dairy creamer. That's when they started calling it Coffee-Mate.

I remember the day so clearly - me, in the break room, impatiently waiting for the microwave to finish warming up my coffee. It probably took an entire minute. [Hurry up, Science, I haven't got all day!] Out of idle curiosity I picked up the container of non-dairy coffee lightener that was sitting on the counter. It may have been Coffee-Mate. It may have been some other Major National Brand. The ingredients were listed right there near the bottom of the cylinder. Prominent among them:

    Silicon Dioxide

What the hell is wrong with us?

Let’s get to the most important part…what’s Pinon coffee taste like? When you first smell it, you’ll think you’re about to drink a flavored coffee. It has a sweetly spiced smell, like it’s been loaded down with cinnamon and sugar.
I remember not liking it, But that was probably before I started drinking coffee. meh...
I drink a pot a day 16oz's at a time. Half coffee half milk, on ice.
I get whatever is on sale at costco, I look for lowest $ per Oz. Most of the time that's the Kirkland (roasted by starbucks) espresso blend. But right before Thanks giving they had a Huge drop in price on Dunkin Donuts light roast 2.5 lb bag, and I bought 8 bags. I still will only drink Arabica, and I LOVE ethernopian coffee. I can go on, and on.
Try cold brew coffee, It's sweeter.

Indeed. I like Cold Brew Coffee.

Less Acidic, More Caffeine, Easier to make without a machine, larger batches, lasts longer.
