Re: Andrew The Yahoo
Huge difference. To put it old school, think BF2 vs. PR.
BF4 is fun as Hell, and ridiculously fast-paced. Action on top of action, with destroyable everything and stunning graphics. Our server has some GREAT crews to run with, and you may run into some familiar faces from the BF2 days.
ArmA3 is also fun as Hell. While slower paced, the action can get incredibly intense. The mod we run (Overpoch) is a consistant world/ sandbox where you can not only build your own base, but also knock down your neighbor's. Guns and goodies can be found by looting the towns or running missions against ai enemys (also a good spot to get some pvp on). You'll also most likely find some familiar faces from the BF2 days running around (look at the TS block on the left as most of us playing are usually in ts with each other).
Either way, you can't go wrong. The only way to be 100% right is to get them both.maximusboomus thanked for this post

Re: Andrew The Yahoo
BF4 is what BF2 evolved into. As noted earlier, playing with resident clans and those with TPG tags will typically give you a quality team play experience.
Hardline is a cops and robbers mod of BF. Some really enjoy it. I do not play it. I don't think this is where you want to invest your time.
I do not play Arma3, but from what I hear, Arma3 relies on team play heavily. I have been tempted to play Arma3 but then I read the melodrama threads about building crap and stealing jeeps and I hesitate. The only reason why I remain tempted to play is that a few folks I trust, including Dex and Nuckle, play it regularly.
I think Dex' post describes it well ... BF4 vs Arma3 is similar to BF2 vs PR ... though Arma3 has a bunch more drama and whiners than PR ever did.Last edited by Amador +JP2+; 04-30-15 at 02:38 PM.
My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.
God grant that I may not be found wanting, that I will not fail this sacred trust.

It's true....ArmA3 is drama drama drama drama drama drama. Then some more drama.
But that's because it's a consistant world, and "wars" can go on for weeks against the same folks. Add to that that the game is buggy (you will die on as many staircases, catwalks, and ladders as you will from other players bullets, not to mention that sometimes things just disappear....all known as being "ArmA'd") , and people can get pretty twisted up. But that is all just part of the game, and the game is still fun as Hell. The rage is just a byproduct of the intensity of it. Throats will be cut, and butts will be hurt. That's what makes it fun. Dying and losing good stuffs sucks.
Smokin and Amador should join us too. Don't judge the dog by the shit it leaves behind.

The beautiful thing about ARMA3 is that what you see on TPG's server is just a tiny little sliver of what the game has to offer.
There is so much to do in ARMA3, the whole epoch/wasteland/dayZ style of gameplay that TPG is into, then you have the PvP missions like battle royale, king of the hill, Zeus, etc.
SsT does vanilla ARMA mission nights and other missions fairly frequently too. Some really great co-op missions out there.
Plus, that new WWII mod just came out, a lot of people have been super excited for that. ARMA3 is just a really good value for how much stuff there is to do...
Though I still love BF4 to death. I refuse to choose between them, so I choose bothSgtRazor thanked for this post
