Re: resume question(s)
Stepping in here a little late... but CPR ain't no joke. My Lieutenant and I did CPR on an inmate for 30 minutes straight before EMT's showed up. Then they strapped a LUCAS Machine to his ass (that is one bad mother fucker - see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox9XA_KzUF0 ).
Anyways, that dude was deader than a door nail before we started CPR and I utilized the AED - to which I'm certified in both.
You should try and become a Correctional Officer. It's stressful, it's demanding - both physically and mentally (I've been on many cell extraction teams with inmates that look like John Coffee from the Green Mile), and you deal with the worst possible scum on the planet every day - the kind of guys that you know exist, but hope to God you never come in contact with - and you're thankful they are behind concrete and razor wire. Or the crazy mother fuckers that eat WHOLE coke cans, swallow razor blades, or stick pens/pencils and/or the deodorant stick twisty-mabobber up their dick hole, slit their own throats and arms with razors. Ah, yes... fun and interesting times.
But hey, it pays my mortgage, my bills, and I receive FREE healthcare through United Healthcare. Every state is practically short right now in Correctional Officers.
Just food for thought.

Re: resume question(s)
Well congrats on the new job. The neat thing about it, is kinda along with what Hub is talking about. If you decide you like it, you can take it up a notch and move on to being a CO or getting your LEO. Don't knock that stuff just yet, you might be surprised by the kinds of jobs. I've been working on an ambulance 8 years now. I never ever imagined I'd be doing this job, much less this long. Even when I started working as an EMT. Now I'm a Paramedic in my third year, and haven't looked back. It's just too bad you don't live in Arkansas.. I'm an instructor, and I'd hook you up for your CPR certification.

Re: resume question(s)
Actually you really don't need any kind of qualifications to be a CO... You just have to be 18 years old with at least a high school diploma and/or GED with a clean record. That's it. The only difference with me is, with a college degree in Criminal Justice, I come in at a higher pay level and CO rank. That, and I can rank up to Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Asst Warden, and Senior Warden much faster - hell even be a Director. I have seen kids straight out of high school come into the academy and be a CO. Do they REALLY have any business being there.... No, but it is what it is - I don't make the standards or qualifications.
You go through the academy and they teach you what you need to know, and you get paid while in the academy. Yes, you see some fucked up shit that not enough bleach in the world to rinse your eyes would undo... and yes, if you're not mentally prepared for it, it can screw with your head. Just remember, though... they are murderers, rapists, child rapists, drug dealers, etc.. they aren't in there for singing too loud in the church choir. So I kind of just tend to laugh at most situations (the times where it's really not that serious, and they are just being dumb dicks) - I just point and laugh, kinda like Nelson from the Simpsons.
