any truckers / truck drivers ?

so most of the job listings im seeing are CDL jobs and i know there are some schools out there that you dont pay but your under contract to them for a year or more

but my thing is ive never really driven a standard i know nothing at all about auto mechanics and i dont have the best eye sight

Eyesight may be a problem as you'll need to take and pass a DOT physical.

I have a CDL Class A Commercial license. I started a Hot Shot business last year and it is required due to the gross weight of my truck, trailer and cargo.

I had to rent a truck, I didn't go to a school but that is because I have pulled trailers and driven large Fire trucks for a long time. I did however pay for the school just so i could drive their truck and trailer for the driving test.

If you don't have good vision you could have issues, it can be corrected but I am not sure what the level of corrections can be.
Some of the newer big trucks used for local deliveries are Automatic, not a lot of them but a few companies.
