Thread: Any Police Officers?

Grats, here in AZ we got cops out the ass

I have tons of friends and family in law enforcement. My uncle is PD/SWAT, I have a few friends with the local sheriff department, and one friend who is a detective. They all love their jobs - it's a dangerous world out there, but it ain't all like the news makes it out to be; there's tons of great officers where I live who really make the community a great place.

Today I received a phone call and I am going to the next step! A few things I need to add. In my local area I applied at the county and they never called back. The city I live in and the neighbor city you have to be 21 at the time of application. Montgomery, AL will allow you to be 19 at the time of application (I am 20 now) Since I will finish the academy at the age of 21 I will be thrown into patrol. Seems exciting with the hands on experience I will get.
One issue that seems to come up is the notion that "The city just needs bodies." I have no idea should I take this in a negative way or what to even think about. In this dangerous world we live in.. I will enjoy my donuts! Wait... They actually have a code where a uniform officer is not allowed there while on duty unless it is an emergency. :/

just remember real life aint like the movies and your not rambo if you know that much you will do fine

also some donut places have drive thrus so loop holes and all

I am a fireman and have lots of cop friends. We are all a different breed. Most of us get into these profession to help people and not for the money even though you can make desent money at some departments. I chose firefighting because i can read a building that is on fire and know what to expect when I go in. But as a cop you don't know who is going to start fighting with you or shooting at you. They are both great jobs....Just make sure it is what you want to do.
