Re: New headphone gear
I had them custom made to replace the crappy stock cable that came with the Audeze LCD-2's.
This is who makes them: Pexon PCs
I just sent them an email with the connectors / pin outs that I wanted, and they made it happen.
I got one balanced 4-pin XLR cable, and one unbalanced TRS cable for the headphones. Sleeved with kelly green and silver paracord.
Scroll down about half way on this page to see the manufacture's photos of the cables: Update #15 - Album on ImgurLast edited by rush2049; 10-08-15 at 09:33 AM.

Re: New headphone gear
Yeah same cable they sell for $80 seperately, its like 4 wires side by side, in a flat configuration. and then it splits in two with two wires to each headphone.
If I had to guess the gauge of wire it would be 24. Very thin, and not to mention that the flat ribbon style configuration makes the cable get all twisted and stuff. Looks like it was made in the cheapest shop in china.
But the headphones themselves are awesome. The connector types (mini-XLR) is actually a really good design, but the cable is such junk.
Not worth 5$ in my opinion.
edit-------------------
I got my pair of LCD-2 for $700 as it was the display model at a local-ish retailer. So the cable wasn't even pristine condition....Last edited by rush2049; 10-08-15 at 03:40 PM.

I remember the old cable for my AKGs. One good rollover from a chair, and they were done. The only cables I haven't had issues with were my old Logitech G35s and my Astro A50s (wireless).
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.
