So what happened?
I was, at most, only a regular player in this community back in like 2012 or so. Many of you know each other IRL, played for years, so on so forth.
Life has kicked my ass the last few years which killed my playtime: I sold my gaming computer and had nothing but a commuter laptop for a long time. Due to still not having a completely stable environment I recently picked up a gaming laptop and have been trying to get back into gaming the way I did before. First stop: TPG.
When I quit playing this community was thriving. Populated servers in multiple games during peak hours every day and almost all day on weekends. Now I come here and there's nothing but a few posts a week and apparently no active servers and no active players.
Is there a new forum or place you guys get together at? Or has life just dragged this community apart like it seems to do to all gaming communities in the end. I miss playing with you guys, being a TPG reg in DoDS, CSS and L4D was probably the highlight of my gaming memory and I would love to get back in swing with you guys again.salty99 liked this post

Hey, good to see you. Nah, we're all still here, but the whole front-facing TPG website has lost a lot of players because the way people are playing games now has changed since community servers are a thing of the past. CSGO killed dedicated servers when they introduced matchmaking, Overwatch killed TF2, BF1 killed dedicated servers by making it impossibly difficult to host one and keep it primed, so now we all just organize and play games primarily by using our friends lists, the TPG teamspeak, and now the awesome new TPG Discord server.
Discord is the cool new kid on the block now - we can have text channels and voice channels so most of us hang out there, keep in touch, and organize games. Discord is what everyone is using now, I recommend downloading the actual app though, the web version kind of sucks. The mobile version kicks ass too - it's just an all around great app.
Here's the link to the TPG server. When you join, just say hey in the general chat and an admin will verify you so you can access all of the voice channels.

As far as TPG the community goes, we're kind of split now between a bunch of different games. A lot of the old counter-strike players are still around and playing csgo every night. Groups of players have also formed their own discord servers as well so keep your eyes open for that. BF1 was a letdown for a lot of us given how hard it was to get a server going. We weren't allowed to host it ourselves and the configuration options made it impossible to admin - so those of us that do play have to squad up as a TPG group and then go tear it up on other pub servers.
Overwatch is huge right now, lots of TPGers playing that, some casually some competitively. There's a fair number of us playing ARMA and the different zombie survival mods. I think by far the biggest game at TPG right now though is Playerunknown's battlegrounds - every night at least half of my friends list has people in game. DOTA and League of Legends have a lot of players here too.
Not sure what games you're planning on checking out but you're always welcome to join up with me or any of the SsT gang - we're still active and play most nights.

Thanks for the information. I had hoped the community had not complete dissipated. Just jointed the Discord app and will start hopping on TS.
Also, I've seen the same thing with my old FL and tons of guys on battlegrounds. Guess that means I need to buy it.Speed. I am speed.
