Personanlly i dont think much here thats worth going to. I live away from the cities major or not for a reason. All Major Cities will pretty much have a high crime rate. Which is why my family lives in the deep country of California. Its a good 30-45 min drive into the city.

If you want to see anything in america you should probably see

    The Alamo
    Ghettysburg
I have sen many Revolutionary War sites that were cool.
There's more i can't think of but these would be cool, ive been to these three
lol omg are your serious? You are going to let criminals dictate where you live!!!
There is crime everywhere no matter where you move they do have police where you live correct?
A good vacation spot for american history would be Boston, Newport and NYC.

Cecil's wrong, visit the big cities...do tourism...I enjoy it, and so do millions of others...we all can't be wrong...
Well that ain't their no more because of...let me think...if i remember... a Terrorist Attack.
Attitudes like yours can cause them to not only win that battle but also win the war. There goal is to invoke terror, there goal is to make you stay out in the woods because you are too scared to go to the city.

Gore while I like Cecil I do have to ask that you ignore him as it pertains to places to see in America. He is having a brain fart at the moment but it will pass

If you want better feed-back then start your own post about places to see. This thread may not be getting as much traffic now that so many have read it and posted in it.

We're not really that awesome, Gore. Not on a day-to-day basis. We're just big, rich, and powerful. And free. And awesome. ^_~

But if you're going to be in the USA for at least a year, you'll have plenty of time to see the sights. There's a helluva lot to do in America, if you have the time to do it.

I agree with Nuckle; start your own post about this.

And @Cecil, if you flee from somewhere just because there's crime or flee from large cities because of terrorism, terrorists are winning. They don't think they can kill us, but they want to make us as fearful and unhappy as possible.

Well, since it doesn't look like you understood my post...I'll try to make it a little more plain...

There was a TERRORIST ATTACK AND THE PLACE I WENT TO GO VISIT AIN'T THEIR (THERE) NO MORE !!!

I'm glad I went to NY to experience a landmark before it was gone due to a TERRORIST ATTACK...

Take a look at your sig...I don't think anyone has forgotten...even an old fart like myself...

You simply can't imagine how it is for a European, to get to see America.
From the time I was a little kid, I've known about America.
It's in the TV, in the games, all the movies, everything.
It's hard to explain. Yes I know I have too high expectations, thinking you're all gods and that stuff, but I've just always wanted to see that land.
And yes, I know about the crime cecil, Every big country/city has it.
We also have crime here, obviously, so it's nothing new.

Alamo was a fight for Texas wasn't it?

Oh noes, Yellowstone, that's where Yogi bear lives
Gore - if you ever come to the states, let me know. I would be willing to take off for a little and meet up. Hmm, we might just have to have a little Vegas time!
