Thread: Anyone up for a race?

I tried Live for Speed and found all but the 100 hp front drive cars would spin on more half throttle acceleration. I expect that in race car with 600+ hp, not in a 200 hp GT. I also have F1 2000 from EA and then downloaded the GT mod for it. It was good but still to much of a learning curve for me to really get into it. I may not have enough patience to try to memorize what gear/RPM I should be at each corner of a track since you can't "feel" the speed of the vehicle.

I would have to list NFS: Porsche Unleashed as one of my favorite racing games. I felt like it really captured the character of the cars with a challenging and fun physics engine. And racing the classic series is probably my favorite portion of the game. The cars were underpowered with sloppy suspension by today's standards. It required more skill to drive fast because you couldn't make up for mistakes by accelerating quickly once you were moving.

I'm off to check out how cheap I can get TOCA 3....

I had F1 Challenge like 99-2003 or something and i downloaded more years after 03'. I loved that. I wish i still had it.
