yeah quite a few great people have worked on it. Nicotero for one! and then I'm really excited for seeing how Darabont will make the whole thing come together. I'm also in the FEARnet forums and they have been talking about him a lot lately, doing a five part interview with him. Today is part three and my favorite quote is "I was a NERD...as many creative types are". I LOVE that!
nerd out with those Zombies on!Oh and Darabont is a HUGE Stephen King fan and I think his work is influenced as such.
Part 3 Frank Darabont (director of 'The Walking Dead' for those who don't know)

I started getting the walking dead books since 2005 and they have consistantly impressed me.
The character driven storyline hooked me from the moment i started reading, for me this and World War Z are the two zombie stories around at the moment that every fan should read.
I'm not sure when the show premiere's outside of the US, but i'm hoping an English station picks this up fast.
I do worry that the first season only has 6 episodes though, kinda makes me think AMC are playing the wait and see game with this.
Man i hope the ratings go through the roof, i want to see this go on for years.

yeah well...I suppose with the content being for SO long associated with the Halloween holiday, as far as television goes that is, they are taking precautions. i have a feeling its going to blow up and they'll be rushing about to make new episodes. I mean vampires took off right? Werewolves never really cashed in.
Here is a thought: vampires can be/are sexy. Werewolves are not and unless you are a necrophiliac or a hot girl on Halloween, zombies aren't either. And what kids? SEX sells? YOU BET.
Hope for the best.
