I use the free version of AVG (Yeah it's crap but I don't need much security)

Any other problems on other games? Any problems on other SOURCE games?

First I hate to point out that you dont have 2 processors, 2 cores yes...
Im using 2 processors, Dual Xeon/Quad Core

...

But have you tried turning OFF the "Multi Core" support in the GFX options

I turned mine off and the game doesnt crash any more...Bad programming...

Just a thought...

im having the same problems as you except,i only crash when i start from a lobby
if i just join a random online game its ok but when i start from a lobby, as soon as i touch ANY button,it crashes big time!
tried all of the above and still nothing,real frustrating and just cant find the answer,any other ideas??
