L4D Game Crashes To Desktop
Ok guys, first of all Id like to say i researched onto this and found the solutions here and tried everything:
1. Disabling multicore rendering.
2. set launch option as mat_queue_mode 0 and enabled console mode
3. installing 178.24 nvidia driver
4. Verify integrity of game cache
5. Check your bios in the cpu settings Deactivate/ Disable "Spread Spectrum" and "Intel Speedstep Tech
6. Run as Administrator
7. Played the settings down to medium/low no luck!
8. Finally did the 'set affinity' thing for l4d.exe when in game using task manager.
After 30mins of gameplay, the game crashes to desktop without any warning dialogs no nothing. Also after a few tries the game also freezes and sound loop thing happens, then what i do is go to desktop then task switch back to the game, that worked in a way but then i got a bluescreen later on with this:
STOP Ox8E
dxgkrnl.sys
And then i just give up, heres my specs, hope anyone can find me a solution id be forever grateful, thanks!
Asus P5N-D
OCZ Extreme 4gb (2xgb)
500gb hd
400gb hd
PNY 9600GT 512mb
Intel Core 2 Quad - Q6600
Belkin WLAN Desktop G+ Mimo card
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit
Note. also for some reason ive had other bluescreens such as Bad_Pool_Header - Stop 0x19 & BUGCODE_USB_Driver - Stop 0xFE.
And my Virtual Memory - total paging for all drives is set at 2857MB, is this correct for a pc with 4GB ram?
