    So what about the SDK?

Can someone please explain to my retarded self what the deal is with Hammer and L4D and how the hell I get it and/or use it. I have never edited with Hammer but all I need is the info on how to install/run it for L4D.

    Help me foos! :insane10:

Survival mode is disgusting tough after a bit.
Wish they had put in a tool to throw up barricades...
Or even sicker, make it so you can add propane tanks
that makes the thing blow upon destruction!

I've downloaded the DLC and played a couple of rounds of 'Dead End' The Lighthouse map. It's great! Just re-start your Steam client and it will automatically download it. Cheers Valve!

Valve stated the SDK will be released shortly after the DLC comes out.

If you reference the "Valve Time" table (Valve Time - Valve Developer Community) then "shortly" means about a week from now.

    Salesman,

Sounds like you're like me and haven't used the SDK before until getting the L4D mapmaking bug. I think the hammer editor itself will be nearly the same as with previous valve games, so if you are also just beginning, you can get a jump start by learning it's mechanics with any of them (most recent probably preferred?). I suspect the game content, entities, tags, etc, will be the main difference. Experienced modders feel free to correct me. Here is a page with a link to some hammer tutorial videos:
